Nicole Young, PMA-CPT
Nicole Young got her first taste of Upside-Down Pilates when she started performing with Lisa Orig in Upside-Down Dance. Through the University of Hawai‘i, she earned a BFA in Dance and a BA in Psychology, had a scholarship to attend the London Contemporary Dance School for a semester, attended the American College Dance Festival with her Senior Project, and was awarded the Yasuki Sasa Award for Excellence in Dance. She is the Assistant Director at Samadhi Hawaii, where she teaches Aerial Dance classes to kids and adults. Nicole currently performs with Samadhi Hawaii and Volary Aerial Burlesque and has formerly worked with Iona Contemporary Dance Theater, Tau Dance Theater, Hawai’i Opera Theater, and Derek Daniels Productions. She has taught at Mid-Pacific Institute, Allegra Performing Arts Center, The Pacific School of the Performing Arts, Tri-School at Mililani, The Honolulu Boys Choir, Dance Central, and The Movement Center. Aside from the performing arts, she has a passion for painting watercolors, and dabbles in designing logos and fliers.
Nicole completed her Upside-Down Pilates comprehensive teacher training in 2010 and has been teaching at the studio ever since. She is also a Pilates Method Alliance Certified Teacher. What Nicole loves about teaching is seeing the physical, mental, and emotional progress of clients as well as having the opportunity for personal and professional growth through working with a variety of students.
