Our introductory solo package is the best way to get started with Upside-Down Pilates! If you have a post rehab condition this is where you will need to start! Your first lesson will be much like a meet and greet! Arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to your appointment time to fill out some forms that will help us learn more about you. After reviewing the forms we will do a static postural assessment and a dynamic movement assessment. If time allows we will then begin your study with learning about proper breathing techniques and pelvic mobility and stability.
On your second lesson we will review with you what we discovered in your static postural and a dynamic movement assessment. We will share with you what we feel needs to be strengthened, stretched, and any movement patterns that need to be retrained. We will then get started.
On your third lesson we will continue your study of neuromuscular efficient movement and then offer you the best course of action for you individual needs.

PNF Pilates for the Face and Neck April 23, 2017

In this workshop we will explore the proprioception neuromuscular facilitation patterns for the neck and face and how they incorporate into the PNF torso patterns. We will tape on ourselves and Herman the skeleton the major muscles of the neck and face. We will learn several exercises to balance in three dimensions the muscles of the neck and face and how firing these muscles will prevent and alleviate most chronic neck complaints. This is part of the PNF Pilates training program created by Master Teacher Trainer Lisa Orig. These patterns can be incorporated into regular fitness classes, dance classes, yoga classes, physical therapy, massage therapy, and chiropractic practice or any form of movement education. Open to all, no experience necessary. This workshop can be attended online via google plus hangouts so do not let distance stop you!

Free Open Groundwork Class For Pilates Day!

Join us for an Open Groundwork Class to celebrate National Pilates Day! Groundwork is based on Joseph Pilates original mat exercises. Mr Pilates created this exercise sequence to rid himself of asthma and strengthen his sickly body. He taught his regime to other soldiers in an internment camp he was in during WWI. The soldiers who practiced his regime remained healthy as an influenza epidemic swept through the camp and took many lives. Because of this and his success in rehabbing amputee patients during WWI he was asked to train the German National Army later called the Nazi Army. He refused and moved to the United States. In the US he started training dancers and gymnasts and created many more pieces of equipment.
This Groundwork will teach the fundamentals of Upside-Down Pilates. We will explore the use of breath, spinal articulation, pelvic and shoulder stability and mobility, head and cervical spine alignment, as well as focus and control through groundwork based exercises.

New Upside-Down Pilates Open Level Equipment Group Class!!!
Upside-Down Pilates is happy to announce that we are now offering Open Level Equipment Group Classes! These classes are flowing workouts that may incorporate the reformer, Cadillac, chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector, arc barrel, balance ball, foam roller, weighted ball, rolling ball, magic circle, bosu, and experimental anatomy. In this class we will explore the use of breath, spinal articulation, pelvic and shoulder stability and mobility, head and cervical spine alignment, as well as focus and control through Pilates based exercises.
This is a series of lessons that is based upon the collective level of each class. Your teacher will choose the best piece of equipment for her students and may change it from week to week.
