Reader, Are you a “someday” or today person? Raise your hand if you’ve ever said any of these things:
It’s SO easy to get caught up in the weeds of “somedays”, we don’t even notice it anymore. I used to be that way, too. Until I realized I had to make a change. After I delivered angel baby Max, my 10 lbs son born and angel in 2011, I had to put myself first. Not my clients, not my husband, not my cats, not the teachers that worked with me, not my TV show, not my business, not grad school, not my dance company, not my email, not anyone else but me. How much money I had did not matter. Other peoples’ happiness did not matter. What mattered was my health because I was so sick and stressed out that my baby died inside of me. Then, the thought of “someday, I’ll put my health first.” Became: Today, and every day, I trust that I can put myself and my health first. That’s my story,Reader. Yours can be different. I know how easy it is to let things pile up on the back burner, sweep under the rug, and (insert cheeky, age-old adage here). You know what I’m talking about. I also know how incredible, transformative, and empowering it is to feel like you are completely in charge of your health journey. It’s easy to say “I’ll just get my ducks in a row first and then I’ll commit” I get that you want to choose the perfect time to commit to solving your health issues but let me ask you this… How has that worked for you in the past? Has waiting for everything to be “perfect” been a good strategy in taking action? My guess is that’s a BIG FAT NO. There is never a right time to get started. There is never a perfect time to get started. If you want to see a change in your current situation, you need to prioritize it despite being busy and despite things not being “perfect.” But luckily, I know you’re busy!
