In this flowing follow-along group class we will learn a series of short movements- exercises- choreographed by Lisa Orig that will not only give us a movement experience of all of our deep stabilizing muscles, but can potentially enhance our dynamic stability, mobility, control, coordination, and readiness to move our body safely in all directions. Upside-Down Nourishment Most of the amazing results I see with my health coaching clients happen from making simple changes in their lives. Take for example chewing your food 30 times before swallowing. What happens? 1. Chewing your food is the beginning of your digestive process. It breaks down your food. 2. Chewing your food sends signals to your body to raise your stomach acid so that your stomach is ready to digest your food. Our stomach acid decreases as we age. When we don’t have enough stomach acid to break down our food and increase the pressure in our stomach so our stomach closes properly. When it doesn’t close properly the flap in our stomach doesn’t close properly. Then food and what acid is there bubbles up out of the stomach into our esophagus and gives us “heart burn”. Stop inhaling your food and start chewing it 30 times and see what happens. It’s free and does not require a prescription. 3. Chewing your food 30 times slows you down so that your body has time to feel full. When you are full. your body sends signals to your brain to stop eating. If you eat too fast you end up over eating because your body doesn’t have time to send the signals to tell you that you are full. So if you chew your food 30 times you will get more nutrition out of your food, stop heart burn, and loose weight. You will also just eat less food easily and effortlessly so you will save money on groceries and have to spend less time cooking. Give it a shot!
