Upside-Down Nourishment Joint pain is the canary in the coal mine or, a signal that there is a degradative process happening in the body. The inflammation that is driving joint pain is systemic inflammation. It’s not inflammation that is only concentrated in the joint. It’s systemic inflammation as those blood markers are elevated when people have joint pain. That systemic inflammation makes its way to all kinds of areas of the body, including subchondral bone (layer of mineralized tissue located immediately beneath the articular cartilage in a joint) and then eventually in the synovium (joint) causing all of this dysfunction. If systemic inflammation is causing the dysfunction in the joint and you’re starting to feel it, I can guarantee you it’s causing the same dysfunction elsewhere in the body because everywhere else in the body, in your brain, in your central nervous system, in your heart, in your cardiac muscles, in your skeletal muscles, all of these other areas have similar cells to the to those chondrocytes that are normally building cells, but because of inflammation, they switch from being building cells to being degrading cells. That’s even occurring in your muscle. This is why muscle loss occurs as people get older. That’s happening in your nerves. That’s why nerve damage occurs and degradation in the central nervous system. We start to get brain fog and memory issues. This is happening at the cellular level in your mitochondria. This is why energy becomes really difficult to generate and and fatigue and all of that starts to set in. So what’s happening in your joints that you may feel is an indicator that a similar process is occurring everywhere else in your body as well. That is the really important thing to remember and to note. In the Framingham study that I shared a few weeks ago, it showed that eighty nine percent of asymptomatic people had active joint disease and they just simply didn’t feel it yet, meaning the cartilage wasn’t degraded enough to feel it, that means eighty nine percent of adults who have no symptoms yet have a degradative processes happening throughout their body. All of it is driven by chronic low grade inflammation. Most of that chronic low grade information is coming from the gut. Osteoarthritis is the second biggest driver of disability worldwide according to the World Health Organization. It’s next to cardiovascular disease. Cardiovascular disease is still number one, but osteoarthritis is is number two. Remember, cardiovascular disease and osteoarthritis go hand in hand. COMING SOON! I solved the joint pain problem.
