Our introductory solo package is the best way to get started with Upside-Down Pilates! If you have a post rehab condition this is where you will need to start! Your first lesson will be much like a meet and greet! Arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to your appointment time to fill out some forms that will help us learn more about you. After reviewing the forms we will do a static postural assessment and a dynamic movement assessment. If time allows we will then begin your study with learning about proper breathing techniques and pelvic mobility and stability.

On your second lesson we will review with you what we discovered in your static postural and a dynamic movement assessment. We will share with you what we feel needs to be strengthened, stretched, and any movement patterns that need to be retrained. We will then get started.

In this workshop we will explore the proprioception neuromuscular facilitation patterns for the neck and face  and how they incorporate into the PNF torso patterns. We will tape on ourselves and Herman the skeleton the major muscles of the neck and face.  We will learn several exercises to balance in three dimensions the muscles of the neck and face and how firing these muscles will prevent and alleviate most chronic neck complaints. This is part of the PNF Pilates training program created by Master Teacher Trainer Lisa Orig.  These patterns can be incorporated into regular fitness classes, dance classes, yoga classes, physical therapy, massage therapy, and chiropractic practice or any form of movement education. Open to all, no experience necessary. This workshop can be attended online via google plus hangouts so do not let distance stop you!

Free Open Groundwork Class For Pilates Day!

Join us for an Open Groundwork Class to celebrate National Pilates Day! Groundwork is based on Joseph Pilates original mat exercises.  Mr Pilates created this exercise sequence to rid himself of asthma and strengthen his sickly body.  He taught his regime to other soldiers in an internment camp he was in during WWI.  The soldiers who practiced his regime remained healthy as an influenza epidemic swept through the camp and took many lives.  Because of this and his success in rehabbing amputee patients during WWI he was asked to train the German National Army later called the Nazi Army.  He refused and moved to the United States.  In the US he started training dancers and gymnasts and created many more pieces of equipment.

This Groundwork will teach the fundamentals of Upside-Down Pilates. We will explore the use of breath, spinal articulation, pelvic and shoulder stability and mobility, head and cervical spine alignment, as well as focus and control through groundwork based exercises.

Upside-Down Pilates is happy to announce that we are now offering Open Level Equipment Group Classes! These classes are flowing workouts that may incorporate the reformer, Cadillac, chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector, arc barrel, balance ball, foam roller, weighted ball, rolling ball, magic circle, bosu, and experimental anatomy. In this class we will explore the use of breath, spinal articulation, pelvic and shoulder stability and mobility, head and cervical spine alignment, as well as focus and control through Pilates based exercises.

This is a series of lessons that is based upon the collective level of each class. Your teacher will choose the best piece of equipment for her students and may change it from week to week.

The goal of the Neuromuscular Re-education Certification Course is to build health and enhance performance, particularly within the pillar of health: neuromuscular efficient movement.

The Neuromuscular Re-education Certification course is open to anyone with a desire or passion to help others and puts incredible clinical tools right in your hands — and the skills to use them. You’ll receive comprehensive training plus case management assistance on specific postural and movement assessments. You may build your reputation and business success upon what you learn in the Neuromuscular Re-education Certification Course. You can even take the Neuromuscular Re-education Certification Course just to work on your own health.

Easy online modules to adapt to your schedule!
Our upcoming course online module opens up on January 09, 2017 and can be registered for up until the first live meeting Sunday February 12, 2017. The first five online must be competed prior to the first live meeting. Live meeting can be attended via google hangouts, so do not let distance stop you. Coming to the studio is the best option if possible though.  Doing live meeting privately is also an option.

$1000 flat fee
or $100 per month for 12 months Jan 2017-Dec 2017.

PNF Pilates For The Torso

January 08, 2017
from 12:30pm – 4:30pm 

In this workshop we will explore the proprioception neuromuscular facilitation patterns for the torso and how they incorporate into the PNF limb patterns. We will tape on ourselves and Herman the skeleton the major “sash effect” muscles of the  torso. We will learn several exercises to balance in three dimensions the muscles of the torso and how firing these muscles will prevent and alleviate most chronic back complaints. This is part of the PNF Pilates training program created by Master Teacher Trainer Lisa Orig.  These patterns can be incorporated into regular fitness classes, dance classes, yoga classes, physical therapy and chiropractic practice or any form of movement education. Open to all, no experience necessary. $100 until Dec 30th, after Dec 30th $125. Worth 4.0 PMA CEC’s. This workshop can be attended online via google plus hangouts so do not let distance stop you!

Cadillac Phase III – 12/11/16, 12/18/16 from 12:30pm-4:30pm
Chair Phase III – 01/15/17 from 12:30pm-4:30pm

Open to Pilates Teachers of all backgrounds who have completed a level I and II training in any Pilates Teacher Training desiring to take their teaching skill to the next level. Phase III of the Upside-Down Pilates Teacher Training covers Level IV, V, and VI of the Upside-Down Pilates curriculum. Completion of USDPilates Phase I and Phase II Teacher Training or comparable is required for Full Certification. Bridging into the USDPilates Teacher Training program is possible on a case by case scenario. Contact us for details on the bridge program.

Body Rolling: Shoulders, Arms, Back & Neck 
In this workshop we will focus on the upper body, focusing on exercises for the shoulders, arms, back and neck. You will learn basic and more advanced exercises including the powerful yet simple breath work. You will learn how to free the ribcage to allow for a fuller three dimensional breath. We will learn exercises to address lower back problems, back, neck and shoulder tension. Keeping the shoulder aligned, tension free and with a full range of motion.

With the Yamuna balls you will learn how to increase flexibility, function and range of motion. Free your body to work more effectively getting more out of your workouts and improving performance while preventing injury and promoting greater circulation. Relieve soreness, tightness and restrictions in your body, improve posture and increase alignment with this wonderful techniques. Walk away with the perfect tool to roll away stress and tension on your own.

We will teach you how to unravel the layers of your body, go deeper, and learn what you need to take care of your own body for full body sustainability. You deserve to feel good in your body. Take the time to learn what it needs.
